More precise - thanks to higher contrast. SOLA’s Inovation Team developed the FOCUS vial.

Götzis. More contrast and as a result improved readability have been achieved in the new SOLA spirit level vial called SOLA “FOCUS”. This modification contributes to a significant increase of the measuring precision. Beginning in February 2011 all quality levels of the Austrian measuring specialist are equipped with this revolutionary inovation.
The spirit level is an essential tool for every construction site. “ Whether an area is perfectly level in the horizontal or vertical position, the vial can be read quite easily. Dust, poor light conditions or poor eyesight of the user, can influence the accuracy of the measurement on the building site”, discribes Lukas Zwing, Director of “Innovation” at SOLA. To reduce these negative influences significantly, the SOLA-team has developped a revolutionary improvement.
„After countless tests our development team found the perfect and simple solution. The contrast between bubble and vial liquid is significantly increased. To achieve this effect, the areas left and right of the bubble are darkened. Thanks to that the craftsman can read easier, faster and better, if the vial is perfectly level”, indicates Lukas Zwing the background of the SOLA-development.
First tests at the building site showed an overwhelming response. “For several months we have tested the new level with professional craftsmen all over Europe. More then 86% of the interviewed participants agreed that this is a significant improvement and will look for the new “FOCUS”-vial when purchasing the next level. In a study the Austrian research organization V-Research also confirmed the high profit of this modification compared to other products available on the market”, says Lukas Zwing.
Leading innovation „Faster, better and in particular more precise reading – it sounds logical, but these are the basic requirements for precise measurements. This was the reason for the further development of our vial”, says Wolfgang Scheyer, President of SOLA.
